Oh, wow. The HUGE theatrical costume company in my town is going out of business, which is sad. But they are pretty much giving away the store, which is intoxicating.
This morning I made my fourth trip. I can't stay away. I have three crinolines, three 18th century gowns, a perfectly authentic Carmelite nun's habit, God knows how many hats, petticoats, leotards, tights, and wigs -- most of them for $5 a pop, or less. And today I bought a stunning black 30s style dress (with satin wrap) from a production of Mame. It goes perfectly with the shoes, made in Spain and utterly unworn, that I got for a dollar.
My feeble old camera is fritzing, or I'd be spamming like mad.
They're also selling huge bolts of fabric, and I got stuff to make curtains for the new house.
I don't do costumes but once a year, on Halloween. But these are the guys I rent from, and when they're gone... gah! And a lot of this stuff is beautifully made. They're works of art! I must give them a loving home!
Okay, it's possible that this is odd behavior. But it's fun, dang it. And you should see that Mame dress. OMGso lovely.

You aren't by any chance interested in a puffy shirt, are you? I bought it because the seamstress was being really helpful, and she went on and on about how the tiny pleats were a lost art. It looks kind of slavic. Up to you. :)

Oh, wonderful. Thank you so much.
As to the shirt, I like ethno-look so I'm indeed interested in the puffy shirt. (Unless it's snow-white. Can't wear white, washes out my skin.)

Oh, heavens, nothing worth speaking of. Don't worry about it! I'm just glad a few more bits from that awesome sale are getting a home.
Also, is there any, like, German specialty you have set your eyes on, which I could get you?
The only things I can think of at the moment are edible and difficult to mail, like creamy pastries or interesting mustards. :D But you'll be sure to send me an autographed copy of Muppet!Angel when it's out, I hope?
