McCain's choice *snigger* *boggle* *snicker*

Hold fast, Hillary loyalists! This is a stunt!

Oh, oh, I hope there's a backlash from the right.* Quick, quick, somebody ask her about her stance on reproductive rights (on this, you know, the anniversary of women's sufferage :).

*Okay, early reports are that she out-Right Wings Pat Buchanan. Quick, start asking her about RR. Somebody.

Even if picking a female veep is intended to woo disgruntled Hilary fans - you know, the ones the media patronizingly insists are all shrill and hysterical and have brains too tiny and hormone-addled to care about policy issues, poor little things - I don't think it'll work.

Pretty much the only thing anyone knows about Palin is that she's a committed pro-lifer, and McCain's entire grab for Hilary voters is premised on keeping them in the dark about his position on reproductive rights. Now that his ticket is unambiguously pro-life, I think that particular outreach effort is a write-off.

Which isn't to say that I disapprove of his pick on the merits. Palin seems like a nice person, and the GOP doesn't have a lot of those anymore.

Good lord. She looks like she just found out she won the lottery or something.

She campaigned for Buchanan once upon a time! Doesn't believe global warming is man-made, wants creationism taught in the schools. She drank all the Kool-Aid.
