Well, not that answer -- the graphic novel thing. I continue to dangle and won't hear anything today. The way they keep pushing the meeting back, I'll be lucky if I hear anything this month.

But the animated show just sent me more work! More pages, more money. Yay.

See, I was having all these rookie nerves. The AP told me I needn't, but she also said sympathetically: "Yeah, I worked at one studio for 20 years, and when I started here I had my head over the toilet for a month." She's nice. I like her loads.

And now I blink fuzzily at the note. Due 10/18? 10/18? Nine pages in ten days? And actually, it's 8 days, because the weekend is given to guestage. Whoof.

Okay, a new breed of panic. But it's the good kind.

Stopped at a lawn sale at one of the mansions near the cathedral, and went just a little nuts. Feeling expansive and relieved, dontcha know. Not cashmere-coat-buying relieved, but certainly lawn-sale relieved. Got so many odds and ends (an antique corn-themed plate, with a corn-themed melted-butter boat, and a wee little brush! What sane person could resist?) they felt obliged to give me a box.

The box is printed with the company name Berk-Tek. Heh. Everything amuses me when I'm feeling like this.
