Got a call this evening from the art director (the sane, experienced, pleasant, NICE art director) of a Canadian publisher (a sane, experienced, pleasant, NICE publisher) and they've offered me work. Doing a graphic novel in a series about historical personages, aimed at kids.
I managed not to slobber or pee myself from eagerness, and we reached an agreement, and I'll be getting stuff Saturday or Monday. YEEE! This is the result of someone on this very flist giving me the headsup and putting in a good word, and oh, how I love thee! Thank you! You know who you are -- I'm not mentioning your screen name because I don't know if you want me to. Can I? Can I tell the Ford as well?
Very grateful. Happy indeed. The Romeo&Juliet thing for the American publisher is still hanging fire, and I'm beginning to lose hope for it, so this is perfect. And the nice Canadian people have seen my stuff already, so there's no specwork or proposal hassle involved, no waiting. They're ready to go.
Good day. Made deadline, got back from Fed Ex, actually sat down and read a bit, and got a job offer. For a totally neat gig.
And Lost is on tonight. And that means a Cleolinda recap to look forward too. My cup, she runneth over.
