jwaneeta at 07:45pm on 20/03/2006I finally finished coloring The Book That Would Not End, and in the course of burning it to CD in the new unfamiliar mac burner, I overwrote the files with empty aliases.
It's gone. Gone, as in gone.
Three weeks of work, of 12 hours days, gone. Today I spent so much time on the phone with the mac technician at the office, with the local PC doctor, with Apple, and with a Data Recovery company I ran my phone out of juice. Verdict? Gone.
The only hope of recovering the files is to pack up the drive, send it to Northern California and let them pry open the guts. But that would cost $3,400, so, yeah.
Tonight I thought I'd be kicking back, deadline met. Oh, God. I'm going to have to color the entire book again.
I... I think I'll just sit in the dark for a bit and watch the snow falling. The serene beauty beyond my window mocks all petty production disasters.Kiss my ass, serene beauty! You come in here and color this thing!
