About 5 days from actually having paid sick time off, but frag it, they can have the $1.02 or whatever. Just nuts to be all hunched over and blind with agony at work; I'd rather do that here.
Bizarre and delightful weather: it must be 50 degrees. I adore Nebraska weather. After spending most of my life in California (and wistfully taping tornados off the Weather Channel since the advent of VCR) I'm very into the volatility of midwestern skies. In LA the skies are blue. Blue, blue -- hard, cloudless blue. Unless you live near the beach, in which case they are gray, gray -- unrelieved drizzly gray. Here the sky changes constantly. I've seen the best storms of my life here. And taken tons of pics. No tornados, yet, though, not where I live. But that could change at any moment! :D
Sad about Dean losing the Iowa caucus. I am going to vote for the Dem who has the best chance of getting Bush the hell out of the White House, but I rather like Dean. Oh, well. There's nothing sillier than getting personal about your investments, as they say, and this is serious shit. If Gore hasn't the character to run (Gore! You selfish PUNK!), it's about voting against, because nothing could be worse than what we have now. I only hope enough people feel that way to unite the Democratic party and defeat by sheer numbers whatever election-fixing chicanery we will face in 2004.
My thoughts turn to Spike/AtS, but with my guts falling to the floor, I only have the energy to say: that Christian Kane! Hubba hubba. What an actor. I REALLY like this guy -- I've failed to mention how his performance delighted me. There was such a sly edge to it: nice work playing a part within a part. The clever bastard affecting to be the punk drifter, the reluctant hero -- a role Lindsay/Lindsey thinks will push the optimum number of Spike's buttons. His over-played "Wham! WHAM!" put me instantly in mind of Phil Hartman's disengenuous Cave Man Lawyer, and made me cackle.
