Heard from the publisher about the book cover and accepted the assignment -- which pays not too badly, and is not due yesterday. Nice.
Should do some more Code commentary. I'm actually within striking distance of finishing. It would feel nice to finish something, even a silly thing like the commentary: the sequel is stalled, I'm in the First Chapter Wilderness with the nun book, everything is so... not done.
Meant to paint Madonnas today, but spent the bulk of my time on the nun book. In the wilderness.
Started another painting -- and gosh, that Maxfield Parrish is one tough guy to forge. Put a foot wrong with those whacky colors of his and it looks like you dropped a tray of Easter egg dye on the canvas. Gonna have to quit while I'm ahead and throw myself on Claude Lorraine. Good old Claude Lorraine, solid, classical Claude Lorraine, almost impossible to foul up. I just want a pastoral sunset to go inside the gorgeous cherrywood frame I got half off at Dick Blicks! Something to glow under the cute wall-fixture I inherited -- don't want to actually struggle over a bit of decoration...!
Urp. Just realized I don't know what media the pub want me to use for this cover. Holy cats. My luck isn't exactly running with oils. I hope to heck they'll go for guache or watercolor. Eep.
