*sniffle* I am sitting here sniffling over the news bits of gay marriage in San Francisco. The couples looked so happy. They looked so proud as they walked away, applauded by their fellow married-people-to-be, and for some reason it got me all mushy.
I've lived in three big cities: New York, L.A. and San Francisco. New York and L.A. were purgatorial. Hell, that's actually too kind. But I loved San Francisco. It's a beautiful, eccentric and precious city. And now I'm feeling nostalgic and proud of SF for making national news with footage of radiant people who have managed to get hitched in public by the mayor, in defiance of state law. I'm just a ball of sentimental goop, actually.
