I'm no good at this. I love movies and have intense reactions to all of them.
The first thing that comes to mind, weirdly enough, is the "Under The Sea" sequence from Disney's The Little Mermaid. Tears sprang to my eyes, it was so good. My boyfriend and I were taking his little brother to a movie, no big, a hassle in fact, but I knew, at that moment, that animation wasn't dead.
Not a great movie. But it was absolutely perfect for what it was trying to do: be a fat, happy, kaliedescopically sung experience.
Lawrence of Arabia. This huge movie just pushes in, pushes in, until the moment Lawrence screams: "No prisoners! NO PRISONERS!" and you are that guy.
Godfather II. Hypnotic, mesmerizing. When it ended I felt, as a nine year old kid, that I'd lived a thousand years. The music, the acting, the cinematography simply pulled me out of myself. I could relive that experience forever. Awesome.
