Yet here I sit online again. I keep dropping my pencil and robotically gravitating to the computer without any real volition.
I'm supposed to be breaking down pages but it's slow and uninspired because I'm all gritty/sleepy. At about 3am I woke to a shattering crack of thunder and then I heard the tornado sirens start, so I sort of lugged myself out of bed and herded the cats downstairs and into the basement. Oh, and cats? Thank you for cooperating. I've always wondered if getting multiple cats into a basement in a hurry was even possible, so THANK YOU cats. The only one who gave me a hard time was weird little asocial Harli, who flies from me like I'm some sort of evildoer, but I cornered her after a couple of bumbling bleary minutes.
Then I popped a tape into the downstairs TV to record the storm coverage -- because I'm just that strange -- and waited. The tornado bounced, as they seem to do on those rare occasions when they head for my part of town, and then dropped again across the river. The sirens stopped. Then they started again for no reason I could discern, so I waited, yawning and wondering why I usually find big weather trippy and exciting.
Finally everything seemed to be over and I freed the beasts and went back to bed. Didn't even lose that much sleep but for some reason my brain feels all unplugged.
(Hey, me, here's a tip from me: Listen, fool, turn the TV off when there's a wicked storm. You came that close to getting a fried televison again. You're running out of lucky breaks, dummy.)
Some branches snapped off my brittle willow but it's nothing major. Boy are we soaked around here, though. I'm from eternally droughty California so I love rain, but moss is starting to grow in weird places and ants are fleeing into my house and there are... mushrooms.
Oh, lord, why am I blathering on about nothing, I need to work. And I will. Right after I check the Robert Downey Jr comm for new pics, heh. I saw one earlier where he was sporting a shapless hat and his man bag and I was charmed. I'm crushing so badly. This is as hard as I've crushed since my first fandom. I like it. :D
