...is that this election galvanized an entire generation who will honestly believe that their vote counts.
I came of age in an era when it seemed impossible to break the stranglehold, wherein voting was a tiny pygmy fist, clenched cloudward and defiant, the pride that would prevail, the doomed protagonist, grappling the ghostly giant.
That changed on November 4th. The kids of all races who voted Obama saw their votes count, and they'll probably never think otherwise, now. OH GOD YES. A vote means something again.
Thank you, President-elect Obama, for running a smart campaign that utilized the noosphere, the internet, the grassroots, the $5 contribution. Thank you for being the first politician to use a smashbang marketing campaign for good, not evil, in an astonishingly disciplined and moral way. Thank you for being smart, Mr. President. I kinda love you as a person. I certainly love your brain.
