I wish I could say a lot of informed intelligent things about Brando, who is dead, and how much I admire acting and actors. But I only spent a decade with an actor don't know enough to be truly eloquent.

How do actors do it? The good ones? How do they hold onto lines in the mind, and inhabit a separate reality and make it steady, when there are costumes and lights and people watching? It awes me. It's such a feat of concentration. I can't emulate it. It's a skill apart.

Lurving you, actors. I'm one of those people who attends university theater and community and any darned show that gets recc'd. I support you with actual money, mostly, by tickets, and if I'm compped in, I sure applaud hard, believe me.

Don't stop, sweet actors. I know there's not a lot of money in it, mostly, but don't stop. You make the world better for me and my theater-freak pals. We heart you.
