That's one big aggressive fish. Jeepers.

(A fisherman at Sydney's Long Reef filmed the 5 metre (16ft) shark circling Justin Stanger and Steve Kulscar, the latter having been knocked him from his craft by the great white. The fisherman came to the kayaker's rescue, hauling him into his boat.)

Spent the day storyboarding, got a box of comps from That Company, meditated in the afternoon ... after which I was so exhausted I gave up on going to the gym. Sometimes meditation is intense for me, and today was one of those days, so.

Kinda really need to get back to the gym, though. The strep throat thing took forever to go away and now I'm all noodly and undefined and wretched.

Saw Milk last night, and it was excellent and profoundly moving, which I more or less expected from what I'd heard. What I didn't expect was... hm, how do I explain this. Okay. All the performances were great with the exception of "Dianne Feinstein's" off-cam "voiceover" or whatever the hell that was, but Sean Penn's didn't register in my brain as a performance at all. I never for one instant realized, while he was speaking, that I was watching an actor: I was watching Harvey Milk. I can't remember having that experience before -- it's just boggling what Penn does with the role.

I wish I had some eggnog. Oh, blessed eggnog, why don't you teleport?

I'm so torn about seeing that movie. The trailer is amazing. But I was living in East Bay when all that happened, and I've already cried my eyes out over it. Not sure I can go there again.

Teleporting eggnog sounds very messy. Especially if there isn't a teleporting cup or bowl or something as well. Blech!

Speaking of blech, Dave Atell says in his standup routine that eggnog is elf cum. Double blech!

Im sorry you feel noodly and wretched. Rest assured that we still think you are the opposite of wretched. We also think you are definite. I know I'm not supposed to speak for other people, but I'm doing so anyway. We all think you are Definitely Awesome.

The whole noodle thing is sorta beyond my ability to judge from here though.

Crazy shark story, as for the gym, don't feel too bad, everybody is noodly and undefined after the holidays ;) You'll get back on the horse :P

As for Milk, I have no idea what that is? now I'll have to find a trailer :P

I still need to see that film. I think I'm just working up the nerve - I know it's gonna make me cry, so there's some intestinal fortitude that needs mustering.

Wow, Sean Penn did well?

That's encouraging. I've had issues with his acting ever since he got his Oscar, but I'll check this movie out. Whenever it comes to britain, that is. It won't have the same resonance that it has in the US, so it might not get here.

I'm shocked that they didn't release the movie in time for Prop 8.
