It's an ordeal if you're self employed, so let me have it:

:envy:
On the drive home from SF, I had resolved to start this evening.
I may put it off a bit more.

There's nothing wrong with putting it off, as long as you hit that holy postmark. Good luck!

Congratulations!

I've almost got mine done but there's one revised form I don't have yet. Grrr.

You do your own taxes? *pearlclutch*

Just kidding. As a freelancer, I have to save work-related receipts all year, and because my accountant is very good and charges by the hour, I spend three days sorting all my crap and writing it up. Then I let her figure it out.

I haven't done my own taxes since I started with Marvel as a mere child and got DESTROYED because I didn't know what legitimate deductions were.

I had an accountant for a while, but it was so expensive last year I just looked over what had been done the previous year and then used one of those programs that keep getting the Dem politicians in trouble. But the most complicated thing I have to deal with are the deductions and credits for college expenses, and that's something I have a little background in.

I couldn't figure out a way to deduct the suit!

Speaking of my spawn, Mr. M and I are going to Europe, and we'll see the suited one in London. We're also going to Florence for a few days because that extra trip was so damn cheap.

Also, the other spawn is going to an Anime convention in Omaha in April.

I adore you two for seizing the moment and going to London. it is the World.

There's an Omaha convention in April? Tell her I can put her and her pals up, if they don't object to staying with a boring old person. :) I know that being in a con hotel is a lot of the appeal.

I think they're shoving so many kids into the room it's actually cheap, but I know she'd love to see you if she's in town, because you are very non-boring.

LOL. GO CYN!

I still have to do mine... at least they're halfway done, only the really complicated forms are missing *groans*

It's such a drag. Every year, the same routine of mounting anxiety, of wincing more and more as the tax prep commercials play... then finally the tension is more unbearable than actually *doing it*... and then finally it's all over.

The joys of freelance. That one year when I actually drew a salary was heavenly.

I SO relieved. I kinda detest numbers anyway... when they represent taxes and terror and multiply like fleas, it's just horrific. ;)

Thank you, thank you. I's such a relief to have the taxes monkey off my back for 2009. :D
