I confess I'm none too familiar with Dirac. I know the name, but like most layman, I'm not big on the "mathematic formulas only" type Quantum mechanists. However, the writeup impressed me:

"his greatest triumph, the Dirac equation of 1928, made Heisenberg's and Schrödinger's descriptions of the movement of the electron compatible with Einstein's theory of relativity, and predicted the existence of positrons"

Making quantum mechanics jibe with more conventional, oldskool, macro-type physics (as Einstein dealt in) is no small feat. That's actually amazing.
