I finished the first half of the storyboards, then went through all sorts of silly contortions getting them shot down (my scanner is too small by that much) and sent them to the producer. Biting my nails off from the show-newbie terror, because I do that. Less than an hour later I got an email with designs for backgrounds. For all my scenes. They'd just come in.
Unnnngh. The layout of these rooms makes at least one bit unworkable as drawn, and another has to be turned over and traced so the players are moving from right to left instead of left to right, and the other... well I can't tell what the hell's going on with that one. There's a staircase in the script, but none in the design. And in my layout, the place is too small by a factor of at least ten -- in the designs it's the size of a stadium. Mmmmwhimper.
Next I have to draw a full-of-business fight scene in a kid's spaceship bedroom. I'm scrolling nervously through the model pack -- surely the kid's bedroom is in there? I ain't touching this section until I find it.
What are these alien lanscapes, speeders and tentacled things?! I need that kid's bedroom!
I miss Spike. I miss Angel. I want my show back. At least the Virtual Season thing is looking very fun. I had a tiny quibble with the structure of the first plot, but lame little quibbles aside, it's shaping nicely. And that Vonline site wows me.
Had an amusing dream this AM about Spike and Angel (hey, I miss them, and no, not that kind of dream). They were doing a great deal of serial world saveage and getting killed a lot. They'd pop right back up and save the world some more. They were reasonably content with this arrangement. Such dreams are always funnier when you're under the effect of sleep, I guess.
Oh, and I dreamed about leeches. I put them in a baggie to test the (dream) theory that leeches in a baggie will bubble and double in size, and whadaya know, they did. One became a giant flatworm that -- uh, yeah, that is gross, isn't it? Never mind.
The publisher of Fanbase wants me to color some of the panels for use as illustration in a text-heavy graphic novel. Yay, says I, glad to -- except I just found out I have to redraw a LOT of stuff on the sequence I just finished, and the deadline's not moving any farther away. *gnaws arm off at elbow*
Fretting for New Orleans re: the storm surge. I'm a weather freak, and for years I've been reading about the effects of a surge on New Orleans, watching the scary animated models, etc. At least it looks like it won't be a direct hit.
Although... read that a wave off Dauphin Island was recorded at 50 feet. Bigbig storm.
A friend sent a link for Shoebox Project, which she guarantees I'll enjoy. The page timed out, though, and I really am stalling here, so I'll have to get back to that one.
Is there nothing else I can stall over? I truly hate redrawing stuff. Why didn't they tell me they were waiting on backgrounds, wail, stall, whine.
Oops, almost forgot: plagiarism bad. Tireless evenhanded investigation? Good.
Oh and hey, Tesla? The Shakespeare project is still up in the air. Stint not with that Green Rosary, please?
Aw, hell. Might as well go back and tackle the redraw. Rats, phooey, ca-ca, eh-eh, balls.
Stay safe, Gulf Coast!

that I was hovering just behind you, which I can't imagine you letting me do unless I was having an out-of-the-body experience, watching you ink. Your face was just as absorbed as if you were in prayer.

Heh. I lightboxed a bunch of stuff backwards, and when I looked at my monitor, my brain told me I was seeing it backwards, too, for a minute.
I'm gaining quite a healthy respect for your rosary prowess. Did you know I quit Monolith of O finally? I'm working at home again! Just a moment, I have to fall to my knees and kiss the floor again in an excess of ardent thanksgiving. *g*
What's the weather like now? You're upstate, right? Is your mom in the south? Saying my own modest prayers for all concerned.
