Entirely worth it. James Marsters was... James Marsters. They even let him rattle off some Shakespeare. I guess the ex-rocker backstory was traded for ne'er do well actor? Or he was just a lovable sot who could rattle off Shakespeare in context because logic isn't a driving force behind The Mountain? Who cares. James Marsters, being charismatic. I'm paid.

The rest of the show was torture (I wanted to get me a shotgun and blow the nymphet's pert little ass clean off after five minutes) but damn, JM showed up well. What a sight for sore eyes.

Guh, the moment when he choked up over his son's loyal little beer label sketches? Hot fat. I would fain see that again.

I couldn't take it. Couldn't. Take. It. So I only was lucky enough to catch one scene.

I had some tolerance built up from watching a previous episode. I can't imagine what it'd be like to jump into this show cold. Ouch.

I've got another hour and a half before the show comes on. I'm not looking forward to sitting through an hour of crap for five minutes of JM. *shudder*

Ah well. It sounds like the last scene will be worth it.

Word. The episode sucked beyond the telling of it, but oh, well, JM was JM. In a leather coat, yet! And did the thing where he doesn't cry because that would be unmanly but you CAN TELL HE WANTS TO! (sob!)

Yes, he does it passing well. I also liked his manly embarrassment when found hugging his kid.

Eh, t'wasn't too much to suffer for that.

Which is why I love the miracle of VCR. Yes, I wasted an hour's worth of videotape, but it was worth it so I could ff through all of the "a plot", and I use the term 'plot' rather loosely here, and watch only the magic of JM. I was rather confused over his character, too. Is Sam's dad always supposed to be around but we only see him in this episode? Ah well, who cares. He made my eyes well with tears even through the worthlessness of the script. ::sniff::

Yeah, the usual airtight Mountain craftsmanship.

I hear they want him back, but the show's not likely to survive. I'm pinning my next hopes on the heist flick.

Of course they want him back. Who wouldn't? {g} He took a mediocre script and acted the hell out of it. ::total fangirl moment::

I hope the heist flick has a script written by people who actually know how to write a script.
